Embracing the Triune God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit:
Introduction to Our Belief in the Trinity:
As a community of believers, we joyfully embrace the profound truth of the Trinity—a cornerstone of our Christian faith. The Trinity teaches us that God, the Creator of the universe, exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. While distinct in their personhood, these divine entities are inseparably united as one God.
This foundational understanding shapes our worship, theology, and community life. We marvel at the mystery of the Triune God and seek to deepen our relationship with each person of the Trinity—acknowledging the Father as the source of all creation, embracing Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer, and welcoming the Holy Spirit as our Comforter and guide.
As we journey together in faith, we celebrate the unity within the Trinity and strive to reflect that unity in our relationships with one another. Our belief in the Triune God not only informs our doctrinal stance but also serves as the bedrock of our shared spiritual journey. May this belief inspire us to worship wholeheartedly, love sacrificially, and walk in the transformative grace of our Triune God.
1. God the Father:
a. Matthew 6:9 (KJV): "After this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name."
b. Acknowledge God the Father as the Creator and sustainer of all things, the loving and sovereign Father who desires a relationship with His creation.
2. God the Son (Jesus Christ):
a. John 14:6 (KJV): "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
b. Recognize Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Savior and Redeemer who came to reconcile humanity to God through His sacrificial death and resurrection.
3. God the Holy Spirit:
a. John 14:16-17 (KJV): "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you."
b. Welcome the Holy Spirit as the Comforter and guide who indwells believers, empowering them with spiritual gifts and leading them into all truth.
In understanding the Trinity, we embrace the mystery of the three persons in perfect unity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As believers, we are invited into a relationship with this Triune God, experiencing the love, grace, and fellowship that flows eternally within the divine community. Just as Jesus prayed for unity among believers, we too are called to reflect the unity of the Trinity in our relationships with one another (John 17:20-23).
